Short story
It was the early evening.  I was trying to write something to vent after the day's annoying events.  My sister was watching TV, mostly country music videos.  I had a hard time thinking  because my head throbbed every time I tried to think.  I had to write down what had happened.  I started with that morning.
The alarm clock went off way too early.  Why would the bus come so early?  Anyway, my breakfast consisted of mouth wash, my shower was too short, and it was too bright outside for me to sleep on the bus.  My head started to hurt as soon as I entered the school after an hour of aimless wandering on the bus.  This annoying and repetitive waste of time grated on my nerves.  Pop music was blaring from the speakers of my colleagues ipod.  All I could think of was tearing the ears off of the imbecile.  It was too early in the morning for this nonsense.  I pulled out a piece of paper and started folding it into a plane.  I placed the plane down on the floor and jumped on top of it.  The plane was flattened like a pancake.  Kind of like it would be if I smashed it into a building.  I then placed it in the trash can.
The class ended quickly enough after the teacher decided to stop teaching.  I walked into the crowded hallway to walk to my next class.  A girl I liked crossed my path.  She was pretty, and nice in general.  But I couldn't let her behavior cloud my vision in how she was on the inside.  I looked right through her, and she glanced at me and then walked away.  The next class was equally boring.  I tried to fold an origami crane, but I gave up after I created an atomic model of uranium.  Its funny how you can study how to assemble a small yield atomic bomb for a few days and it gets stuck in your head.  I flattened the atom and threw it in the trash can. BOOM!!!  I wished it was so.
The next class was ridiculous.  There was so little effort put into it by the students that the teacher turned it into a joke.  There was no requirement for good behavior or hard work.  It was so pathetic it made me sick.  This school was starting to wear me down.  There was only one class left to endure before I was free once more.  This class was a little more special to me.  This class was lead by me.
I entered the fourth and final class.  The class stood to their feet and went to attention immediately.  This was a class that I could enjoy.
"Today we will cover how to take over the school.  I'm just kidding, go to chapter 3 section 2.  This section will teach lessons of history in the form of genocide, regicide, and homicide.  The chapter has covered some of the famous wars in our history, wars that have been studied by millions and examined to see what it has taught us.  Its funny that mankind would be willing to kill itself over and over again, then say that it is shocked at how horrible it is, then do it again a few years later.  Isn't it?"
"Yes teacher," the whole class repeated as one.
"I think that you will all be very interested in how we killed each other in this war.  This one is called the War of the Soul.  It is fought every day inside each one of us.  For some reason most people have surrendered and now are trying to drag everyone else down with them.  You probably know the type.  Look, there's one passing our window in the hallway.  Study the look in its eyes.  They are called an it because they have nothing inside of them to make them human.  See that pointlessness?  Why don't you do something about it today."
"Yes sir," they said in unison once more.
These students had learned well.  They would be perfect examples of what a proper and enlightened education could do.  I expected great results after a few more years of being in my class.  Now school was over.  I walked back to where my bus was waiting to take us home again.  This was the last piece of deceit I had to bear.  My life now entered the real part.  This was where I could show my inner light.  When I reached my home I smiled at the bus driver, thinking how she would suffer in a little more time.
My dark sanctum greeted me with its gaping mouth breathing whispers of death.  It always brightened my day when I arrived at my "home".  Inside there were the welcoming pictures of the nazi torture camps, the mass graves in Turkey, and several other envious sights of release from humanly bondage.  The red and black walls were invigorating.  Darkness surrounded me and embraced my barren heart.  This night would be a feast of freedom.  Tonight I would bring one more person out of their corporeal corpse and into the new being!
I took my cell phone from its bone case and opened it up.  Shifting down the contact list I found the number of the girl I liked, Vanessa, and began a text message.
"Hey Vanessa.  Would you like to come over to my house and hang out?  I have something really cool that I want to show you.  I think you will really enjoy this.  It could change your life.  MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"
She replied a few minutes later with, "I'd <3 to Ty!  I bet this will be reaaaal special.  ;).  I'll be over at 5:00, k?"
"Sounds good.  This will be very special, just for you."
"Can't wait!"
This was going to be way easier than I thought it would be.  Perhaps my natural handsomeness and longing, mysterious eyes were attractive.  The physical shape I was in was nothing spectacular, only enough to do what I needed to do.
I heard the doorbell ring with my signature funeral medley.  I smiled to myself and turned up the lights.  After some quick renovations I thought that my house looked almost normal.  The pictures were hidden by pictures of beaches at sunset and a night sky from a mountain's peak.  Music played from the surround sound speakers that was soft and soothing.  The lighting was well dispersed and a little incense was burning in the candelabra.
She was standing there as if she expected something.  She was not disappointed.  I brought the flowers I had picked from my blood garden earlier that afternoon.  I called it the blood garden because the soil was saturated with the blood of those I had freed already.  Their life essence was absorbed by the blood red flowers that seemed to grow naturally there.
She looked with awe at the luxurious flowers and then thanked me with a hug.  I almost began to have second thoughts about what would soon follow.  Almost.  Soon enough she would be out of my head and free to experience life for the first time.  I lead the innocent girl to a hidden door behind the statue of Pluto, the Roman god of death.  She didn't catch the subtle clue as to what happened next.
Without hesitation she followed me into the inner pit of my little slice of Heaven.  There was nothing stopping me now.  She was in my grasp.  She was lost and found at the same time.  I would release her.  My heart rate started to pick up as my blood pulsed through my veins in anticipation of the kill.  The hallway we entered was lit by blue globes that bathed everything in an ethereal light.  The haphazard placement of the lights left patches of shadow in the long hallway.  I knew to avoid them.  She did not.
The first one she stepped on was not a trap, but it did seal the door behind us.  The wave of dust emanating from the closing door blew down the passageway, clouding the rays of light even further.  She looked back at me charily as worry flashed across her mind.  I smiled encouragingly, then ran forward and pushed her headlong into the next shadow.  When her body hit the trigger a chain shot from one wall and lanced into the other.  This one was followed by more chains until soon chains laced around her body binding her in place.  She let out several terrified screams.
I kneeled down by her head and stroked her head gently.
"Relax, this will all be over soon.  I'm going to make you better."
"Oh my gosh! Get me out of these chains now!  What is going on here!  Help me Ty!  Please help me!"
"You poor thing, wandering into the spider's web, not a clue as to what you are doing.  You came expecting pleasure and fun.  I am going to show you the error and falsehood of your ways.  There is nothing in them, thus you are empty and devoid of meaning.  I will give you meaning."
"WHAT!?!  Are you going to kill me!?  Dear God, please save me!"
"If you really wanted God's help you should have started seeking Him before you were about to die and face His judgment."
I grinned as I touched a hidden panel on the wall and the chains started to pull tighter.  She started to scream again as the chains constricted her small and weak body.  There was the sound of a footstep behind and a flash of red before my eyes.
I woke up once more, this time I was tied up.  A quick scan of my surroundings told me that I was still in my home.  I was up against the only furniture I had in the living room.  It was a soft couch with an inviting air about it, but anyone who sat in it would find it to be far less inviting up close.  It was a few feet high so my head rested against one of the arms of the couch.  I was bound by a strong cord that appeared to be nailed on the ends to prevent it from loosening.  Someone was very smart.
Footsteps once more alerted me to an approaching person.  I looked to my left and saw that it was Vanessa.  She looked down at me with a wicked grin.
"It seems the spider has been caught in his own web.  Did you really think that your actions would go unnoticed?  I assume you know about the organization of darkness?  No, well we know of you.  You have been so evil that you have attracted the attention of our leader.  I almost envy you.  You are quite clever for a mortal.  I was startled at how well you performed this operation.  You forgot one simple detail.  I had some backup.  None of the other victims had that so you were completely unprepared.  You should never assume that your target is unaware of your intentions, murder 101."
"I can assume though, that you are not here to analyze my techniques?"  My head felt like it would burst.
"Blunt and to the point.  I like that in a man.  I am here to give you an offer you can't refuse.  We want you to join us.  This invitation is extended by the supreme power at large, Satan himself.  You will receive further instructions and conditions after accepting membership.  If you refuse you die in an excruciating manner.  Understand"
"Clear as diamond.  I accept.  This sounds like something I could use my particular talents for."
"Excellent!  I was confident you would, or else I wouldn't have come and would have just turned you over to the police.  You will receive your first assignment in a couple of hours.  I will leave you to untie yourself.  Have a sinister day."
With that the little monster left.  I was in love.  I managed to wedge the sword I kept safely tucked away in the couch cushions out a bit so I could saw my hands loose.  This was a good day.  I just had to write about it.  I wonder what my first assignment would be.
My friend wrote a story like this and lost it, I rewrote it and then started a story based on this character.
